This it’s a great entry level car to get into classic car culture without spending a lot of money. You can drive right now. It’s not going to be a “project” unless you make it one.
This rear wheel drive coupe has working air conditioning, automatic transmission, sun roof, center console shifter, 89,500 miles and AM/FM tape deck.
The vehicle has a reliable motor and gets good gas mileage. Originally sold by Yucca Valley Ford it comes equipped with the stock Ford 200ci inline V6 which makes about 92 hp. This 6 Cylinder engine is a great alternative to a V8 in terms of efficiency. It stayed up in Yucca Valley until it was sold as part of an estate sale and relocated to San Diego by the second owner. Under my ownership it splits time between Riverside and Indio.
The Ford Fairmont is the original Foxbody. By extension it shares many parts with the 1980-93 Mustang so mechanical parts are plentiful. If it will fit a Mustang it will likely fit a Fairmont.
Search “Ford Fairmont” and “Mercury Zephyr” on CL, Facebook Marketplace, Ebay Motors and Offer up. This is still the nicest on sale in the US at the moment.
You are getting a complete running car. You don’t have to hunt down hard to find parts or figure out how to get it running. It could be used as a daily driver. Bring or send your mechanic. I am willing to make myself available for your transport service if you are shipping it out of here. It’s a California car no rust whatsoever.
